Read pages that block us
Some news sites refuse automated readers. The browser shortcut lets your own browser send us the article you already have open, so it works on those sites and on pages you are signed in to.
- Show your bookmarks bar (Ctrl+Shift+B in Chrome, Edge and Firefox on Windows or Linux; Cmd+Shift+B on a Mac).
- Drag this button onto the bar: Check with Aethelgard
- Open the article, then click the shortcut. Aethelgard opens in a new tab with the result. If you installed this shortcut before, delete the old one and drag this new one.
If your browser blocks the new tab, allow pop-ups for the news site and click again. If we cannot connect automatically, the shortcut copies the article text so you can paste it into the box on the first tab. Paste only the article itself, not the whole web page, and do not add any personal information (your own name, email, phone number, address or passwords). Whatever you paste is sent to our AI provider to be analysed.
Works on desktop browsers. On a phone, copy just the article text (headline and body, not the whole web page) and paste it into the box instead, because phone browsers do not support this kind of shortcut well. Only the article text and link are sent, and we do not store the text.
